Landscape Prosthetic by Rohan Rathod in collaboration with Steven Ko and Erica Tong.

A prosthetic for the way the landscape is perceived, the Zoetrope Cable Cabin is an architectural device that records the slope of the landscape and translates it into a visual signal. As the landscape gets steeper the Drive wheel rotates quicker and through a theoretical system of sprockets and gears, causes the Zoetrope fins to rotate faster, this way providing a visual depiction of the gradient of the ground through time. Intended for for group usage, the cabin is split up into the activation, discussion and reflection levels each providing an alternate learning experience. Designed to function in a similar way to an aerial tram, the cabin has a track that cuts through the breadth of Frick Park, Pittsburgh.
